OS Runescape money making guide

There are plenty of ways to make money in Old school Runescape, but obviously some are better than others. You don’t want to waste your time picking up eggs and feathers from people farming chickens. So here’s a few ways to make a decent money.

Killing chaos druids

Pretty much every list about farming gold in runescape should mention this method since you can do it pretty quick without having to have a super high combat level or crazy gear. Farming chaos druids is real easy since they have low health pool and they hit like a wet noodle. They usually drop a collection of herbs which go for a pretty penny, with the most famous one being the Ranarr weed.

The best part about this method is that is pretty fool proof. You just head on over to Taverly dungeon, head in and start killing chaos druids, pick up the loot and head back when your inventory is full. Easy and efficient way to farm gold.

Collecting steel platebodies

Now this method is a bit more risky and not quite as easy as the last one, but the rewards are potentially about double as well. Collecting steel platebodies goes as follows, you start from the Edgeville bank and run south till you find a lever, pulling the lever heads you over to the deep wildy. After that you’re going to want to head over to lava maze area. Once you’re there you’re going to want to be as alert as possible as there are probably going to be a few players farming this spot, however if you can find a spot where you’re alone it’s going to go much smoother and faster. Just wait for the platebodies to spawn, collect them, then run back to the lever that lead you here and teleport back to Edgeville and bank your loot. This method can be quite risky and much slower depending on the amount of people doing it. Obviously the less people the better for you.

Cooking raw tunas

This is not quite as lucrative as the other methods, however it’s completely safe and there’s very little that can go wrong. On the down side though you’re going to need Cooking skill of atleast 30, but you’re going to want to have it at 63 since that’s when you can’t burn them anymore, netting you a higher gph. So just go get some tunas, buy them if you cant fish them anymore, cook them and sell at a profit, a really simple and time tested method, but it works.

Grand Exchange Flipping

This, much like the chaos druid method, is a famous method, however it’s also quite an infamous method since you cant really make money as reliably as with other methods and if you do it wrong you might even end up losing money. The simple explanation of the method is, like in the real life market, you want to buy low and sell high(er). You generally want to invest in to an item that’s currently sold a lot, but you think could be dried up later. Generally flipping is pretty risky and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you know a lot about the game and which items to invest in.

These are some of the methods to make money in Oldschool runescape that I wanted to mention. OSRS is one of the most fun games in my opinion and it’s always nice to know a few of these methods to really impress your friends, when you’re rolling fat stacks while they’re barely getting by. The most fun I had however was playing on a runescape private server, since the community just seems so much more friendly and you don’t have to buy your membership.

Runescape clans Primer

Today I’d like to talk about runescape clans. So what are clans in runescape ?
Clans in runescape are basically organisations made up of players. To start a clan you need atleast 5 players.

What are clans used for ?
There are basically 3 types of clans. Clans that focus on clan wars, which are basically battles between clan members. These are usually recruiting the most geared players and catering mostly towards pvp.
PvE clans, which focuses mostly on clearing the game content. So raids and different bosses, these are the most popular clans since they give you a group of players that are hopefully about the same level as you and let you get a group together faster when you need one. Sometimes these have mandatory participation per week however, most of them are free-for-all.
Lastly we have the skilling clans. These mostly cater to free to play players and focus on helping their participants level up a particular or a broader selection of skills. There are also usually maintained by senior more experienced players and joined by newer players, so theyre a good place to start.

The benefits of joining a clan should be obvious but beyond having simply a group to play at your call, theyre also a good way to talk and socialize, as runesacpe is primarily a MMORPG, the emphasis here being on multiplayer. They are a great way to make friends even outside of the game and i know i still talk to some clanmates from my previous clans.

OSRS farming

I’m still playing OSRS and i’ve started working on my farming skills. If you’re trying to do the same this blog is gonna come quite handy imo. However if you’re looking for a private server to start playing osrs for free without having to pay for membership id head on over to this runescape private serverlist.

What can you even do with farming ?
In OSRS, like in real life, farming consists of planting your seeds and letting them grow, then harvesting the results. Now it may be a bit more complicated then that, but thats the gist of it. You can only plant in the farming patches. However don’t get bogged down with the idea that you can only use this to plant the plants or herbs for cooking, you can also plant trees to use for your woodcutting training, letting you train both skills at the same time.

Why would i even want to level up farming ?
While it may seem tedious, farming is actually used to get a few methods of transportation making your travel times a lot faster. The most common ones are the balloon and fairy ring transportation quests which require farming skill of 30 and 49 respectively. The other reason obviously is to make money. You can do so with farming contracts which become available at level 45 and you can join the next tiers at 65 and 85. The last method is also making the herb runs, which is always a good way to make money, but you’re going to need high farming skills for it.

How to level it ?
The way it makes most sense to me is to start with the Fairytale quest, the first part of which gives you enough exp to get you to level 17. The next step is to do tree runs, which involve going to a tree patch and paying the nearby farmer the necessary amount of money and giving him sapling of your chosen tree for him to plant. This method nets you a lot of experience and as you go higher you can start planting higher tiers of trees granting you even more experience.

Now that you know what to use farming for and how to level it, it’s time to put it to good use. Start leveling it today and soon you’re gonna be making tonnes of money with herb runs. You can also find a free private OSRS server here https://serverlist101.com, so you don’t have to pay for membership to play.

OSRS weapons

Weapons tend to be found in most online games. You generally want to use the right one for the job, so today im going to do a quick overview of them all.

Daggers

Daggers are generally useless, they’re mostly used for their special abilities with the notably one being the double hit. Mostly underwhelming.

Swords

Swords are the archetypal weapon of the medieval era games and are obviously present in runescape in great number with the most popular being the dragon scimitar and a not-so-close second being the dragon longsword.

Maces

Generally maces aren’t particularly useful since they have quite poor damage, compared to the swords. However there are a few exceptions like the ancient mace, which can be used to drain the prayer points from your enemies.

Spears

These exclusive two-handed weapons are generally slow, however they have prodigious damage. With the two notables being the Zamorakian spear and Crystal Halberds which are useful in end-game raids.

Staves

Staves are generally used by magic-users and when they are they are quite useful. With the elemental staves enabling you to cast spells without expending certain runes they also generally increase your magic accuracy, so they are a welcome addition to any mages outfit.

Bows

There exist long and shortbows, however the longbows are generally ignored since they have such a slow attack speed. With most of the endgame actually being dominated by the rune crossbow.

Hope this was of help, see you next time.

Runescape private server

Recently I’ve been dipping my feet back in Runescape and since I was disappointed by jagex and their servers i figured i might as well try to find myself a better run one. I found a whole list of them at https://serverlist101.com/ and I found myself enjoying rs once more. Once I didn’t have to grind out the levels only to enjoy wearing the best armor and running around wildy pwning newbs, I found myself taking the it a bit easier since i didn’t have to treat RS as my other job, rather a way to decompress after a stressful week at the job. There’s plenty of private servers to pick and choose from and I know you too can find one that suits your wants.

See ya around,
